Color Inspiration

Having trouble figuring out exactly what style, colors, etc… to include in your home, and office?  Is it taking forever to decide on a color scheme for an upcoming event or wedding you are planning?  This might seem like a daunting task… I mean with all the amazing color combinations out there how could you possibly decide on one?  Well… you can draw inspiration from anywhere and things that catch your eye might just be a good place to start.  For instance, do you tend to like pictures in magazines that showcase bright colors or more subtle neutral tones?  Is your favorite time of year winter, with all the whites and ice blues or fall when all the leaves turn orange and yellow?  Is your closet filled with classy black and white attire, neutrals, or confident reds and bright pinks?  All of these are a great place to start when figuring out a color scheme for whatever purpose or occasion you are searching.  Drawing inspiration from magazines, nature, your closet, other cultures, other countries, etc.… is such a great jumping off point that could lead you to the look, feel, and color scheme you’ve always wanted but never even considered.  Think outside the Crayon box and get creative.

The colors in this painting I did (left) was inspired by the colors of springtime.  I found inspiration from colors as I was walking, picking up leaves, grass, etc... and used them to mix colors creating a beautiful and bright colored work of art.  I never would have thought of combining such colors and using them in a pallet together.  Thinking outside the box for color inspiration really works.
