Wall Art: Vinyl Decal vs. Custom Painted Wall Mural

I’m sure you are all very familiar with wall decals; they are everywhere right now.  I am here to inform you that these very popular wall decorations aren’t all they are cracked up to be.  For starters they are actually quite expensive, especially for something that is overly produced and applied in so many households.  It isn’t uniquely yours; others have the same opportunity to purchase an identical decal.  Another thing you should know is that when you purchase a decal, you need to take into consideration the time it takes to actually apply it to the wall.  Many have individual little pieces, like leaves or flowers that you must stick on one at a time.  Depending on the complexity and size of the decal you purchased, this could take forever.  Something else to consider is that wall decals are not permanent.   When the glue starts to lose its “stick”, or little fingers start to pick at them, the edges start to lift and it wont be long until they need to be replaced.  Wall decals are also a “one-size-fits-all” type of applique.  This sort of marketing strategy doesn’t fit well considering everyone’s style is so different with their homes being equally just as unique.

Another way to get the “decal” look and incorporate some art on your walls would be a custom painted wall mural.  Designed specifically for you and your space, these are totally one-of-a-kind and won’t peel off like the popular vinyl types.  If you are concerned about the cost, it is comparable to the ones you can purchase in stores and online but it more economical in the long run.   Imagine the possibilities with custom designed wall murals. DREAM, INSPIRE, CREATE
